Saddamn is said to be dead.  To let it get to the point that such a blatant sociopath is in charge of a country is the suboptimum part of the governing solution.  

The fact that he is dead is a local maxima in the optimization process of human events.  For you libs that means its a damn good thing he is dead. Its a damn bad thing that good people have to hard things.   However there is no looking away when these duties call.  To look away is to surely condemn some good person somewhere to be a new victim of the sociopaths.

To the thugs and dictators of the Earth, take note.  It may cause some pain but we can reach out and touch you no matter where you are.

I was just reading news related to a company called Southern Copper Corporation.    It has just signed a “voluntary” agreement with the Peruvian government to pay them 775 Million dollars over the next 5 years for “Social Programs”.  These phrases are in quotes because they are certainly not either.    The reality is governments are incredibly corrupt and corrupting concepts.   The arty is is here: Corrupt Government Pimps Out Citizens .   It talks about the Peruvian government “brokering” a deal for the locals in the area of the mines to receive money because they feel left out of the commodities price boom that has occurred with copper.  

If you read the arty you can get the details.  Our reporters should be shot for trying justify such a scheme by using the “WindFall” term.

The simple fact that no matter what was done in this situation the Peruvian government being involved is a very bad idea.  Especially for the Peruvians.  In a previous arty I talked about how corrupting the influence of oil money is on these micky mouse governments.   The simple fact is that the people who purported to have had a claim would have done their country a big service by keeping the government out.  The Peruvian government is likely to take a hefty cut out for their “middle-men”.  In addition it is sure to be spent on mindless crap that the middle-men can take yet another big slice out of.  In the end the people who complained where probably local politicians also!  So then THEY get their 2-cuts also.  Now by my count its been sliced on 4 times by politicians.  How much do you think is left now?  Whhoops.   Juan and Fernanda on the street would be much better placed to embrace rampant capitalism.  

And god help Southern Copper-PCU because this ain’t gonna be the last time this banana republic comes around demanding money.  This is simply stupid. Capitalism is just so much healthier.  Why do latin countries all have these corrupt socialist governments?  Want to argue with me ?  The proof is in the people from these countries who want to come to the USA to live and work.  They’re sick of the corrupt socialist dream.  They do not want to be pimped out any longer.    Liberals might complain about the companies and say that they exploit the workers.   My reply is to the extent anyone is exploited is the extent to which we allow governments in.  You can not escape the fact that governments willfully keep their people ignorant and without options afforded by rampant capitalism. 

Its all kind of funny in one respect.  The commodity boom has the feel of being over. Let’s see if they get “their” money.

There are skilled people and there are stupid people.  These are people who do good and people who do harm.  Whether this is due to a malignant nature or due to plain simple stupidity is not the topic of discussion here. Societies thrive on the fruits of labor from people who are skilled.  Empires fall because people lacking the skills to build can only destroy.  And you know its much easier to destroy than build. 

Destruction is probably just as much work for the person doing it as building.  In reality we fill our lives with whatever we fill them with.  I assume that the vandals of this earth are just as busy as I am contructing……However due to the principle that here are only a few ways for things to function correctly and a vast multiplicity of ways for things to go wrong its easy to see that the requisite skills for destruction are WAY less.

Somewhat orthogonal to this dimension of skill is motivational drive inherent in a person. 

With that we have the 2 axis of a graph defined.

If you want to optimize your outcomes you can look at the problem as one of limiting damage.  The most damaging quadrant is the High Motivation / Low Skill - Ted Kennedy Dumb Quadrant.

If you want to optimize results you can look at the problem as being one of loss minimization.   The worst quadrant the the Teddy Kennedy Quadrant.  The one where the person is stupid and motivated.   It could just have easily been called the Al Gore Quadrant.  This is where the person has only passing coincidence with capability.  They go about with all their energies trying to do something end in the end all they do is end up screwing things up worse than they already are.

……The mental picture here should be a very energetic but poorly skilled brain surgeon.  Not someone you should let anywhere near an operating room.  This is the Global Warming Crowd.  Only the stupid highly motivated could take this imaginary problem on.   It takes some true faith to champion a confabulated cause such as this. I speak here of the ones NOT getting paid.  The suckers who are true believers.  Regarding the Fear Factory Workers, the researchers that feed on the ever growing revenues government sinks into this that is a different question. 

The low skill, low motivation person you leave unchanged if possible.  If there is anything you can do to discourage their activity you do.   If there is anything you can do to increase their skills ( there isn’t ! …they have to take this problem on themselves ) you do it.

The high skilled, low motivated you simply try to motivate with all the standard tools and if they do not take the bait you let them rot.  These are typically your passive aggressives that want to sit back and watch everyone else work !

Finally there are the highly skilled, highly motivated.  What to do for these people ?   Get the f#%k out of their way !   That means you democrats!

This is how it has been through all of human history.  Now we are entering an era of human endeavor where nothing is going to be forgotten.  Crude feedback systems such as the one used by eBay are rating peoples behavior.  Lets see what happens !   I can see where there is possibly going to be less and less you can get away with.  By limiting who we choose to do the important jobs and by limiting compensation for those who do not perform we can both motivate and optimize those who do the most important job in society, which is make it run.

This guy was so plain jane vanilla that one can not tell what a Republican is from looking at him.  In 1976 you can not believe the dissappointment when he was nominated instead of Reagan.   Geralds gone now.  As a president he was a No Op.  These country club republicans are so banal it hurts.  A republican is only doing his job when democrats are screaming and crying.**  Only someone like Gerald Ford could get Numb-Nuts Jimmy Carter elected.  

Since writing this I have seen alot of testimonials about Gerald Ford and commity in the 70’s and about how rancorous it is now.  Yah right.  The Dems had dominated politics from the time of the great depression around 1932 till the 70’s and beyond. The reason there was commity was the fact that they had control and the Republicans must have been limp wristed. The Dems got most if not more than what they wanted and the Conservative movement was moribund. Naturally the Dems were happy as pigs in shit.  All the testimonials by these liberal commentators were obviously wistful.  If only the conservatives would stop being so darned dissagreable.  It never occurs to these pin heads that all the LibDems have to do is stop being so darn dissagreable and give us conservatives what we want. 

This is always a good way to spot a self-centered narcissist.   Look for them to see comprimise or other such collaborative processes as always the other people comprimising to meet their every whim.

**To elaborate:  Its a common schtick to say someone is SO wrong that all you have to do is the opposite and you will be sure to get it right.  This is of course not a good strategy because there are generally few ways for things to go right and a multiplicity of ways for them to go wrong.  However in the case of democrats they are so far off track that its safe to say they are always wrong.  While you can’t be sure you are have a solution by making a democrat cry, you can be sure YOU DO NOT have a solution if they are not crying.   In the vernacular of logic its a necessary but not sufficient condition.

It looks like your nutjob Global warming sham is going to end up pulling at least a partial con off. 

Its time you citizens ( non-engineers) understand a few simple facts and are given the logical conclusion which is an upper cut into the face of global warming.

 1) trees help right ? WRONG.  Here is how it goes.  

The only way possible for this tree to not yield up every last bit of its carbon in the form of CO2 at the end of its life in any sort of long term window is if its buried under the ground and is formed over extremely long time intervals into coal.  The conditions have not been right for this for quite some time.  Conclusion?  Trees do not affect CO2 levels.  

Now if you have any sort of an engineering mind you should have a very obvious question in your mind right now. 

Give up ? Ok here is what you should be asking yourself :  Why are we not suffocating ???  

 We are burning oxygen with coal and petroleum constantly.  CO2 is being added into the system by burning and in fact by you breathing.   The trees can not do anything to alter CO2 levels on balance for every tree breathing out Oxygen right now there is another one rotting on the ground putting out an equal amount of CO2 effectively removing trees from the equation. 

Therefore there is another environmental source of production for oxygen.  Its not anything I see on land.   The only logical conclusion is that its in the Oceans.  Since CO2 has not really changed very much over the past century.  You can see that on the graph below. 

The global warming con-job crew has tried to gussy up this graph by starting at a non-zero y-axis point. Because of this it appears we are going from zero up fast to some level.  However its NOT starting at zero.  Its starting at 290 parts per million CO2.  Therefore the atmospheres CO2 levels ( if we can trust the graph since its from one of the global warming sham sites ) have only increased on the order of 20%.  In addition to this on an absolute measure CO2 has only gone up 60 parts per million.  

A part per million is just what it sounds like. 60 parts per million means out of 1,000,000 gallons of air you add 60 gallons of CO2. Extremely minimal. Its a bare whiff. Imagine dumping 60 gallons of pure blue dye into 1,000,000 gallons of water. In fact you can see in the table below the constituent components of the atmosphere.

When you realize how little CO2 there really is in the air and how little it has changed you have to realize there is VERY powerful oxygen generator somewhere.  Its in the oceans.  I do not know exactly what it is.  However I do know that mathematically it has to be there.  I also know that it is not just something that is alive then rots away like the tree upon death. 

Yes there is something in the ocean that is sequestering carbon in large amounts and is very effective at it. I also suspect that the more CO2 that goes into the oceans the faster it sequesters.   This is because the first step in the sequestering almost has to be some sort of photosynthesis.  CO2 is the ash of carbon burnt with oxygen.  In order to separate C and O2 back into constuent elements energy must be added.  The rate of photosynthetic production of oxygen goes up with rising levels of CO2.  This is why people who grow pot buy tanks of CO2 and feed it into their indoor growing areas. The above argument coupled with the simple fact that the most potent green house gas in the atmosphere is WATER VAPOR! ……leads to the very evident conclusion that global warming is nothing but a scam.  It can not possibly be a real phenomenon.

There is one source of global warming that you can see every day.  Its the great big fireball in the sky called “The Sun” . It does indeed cause global warming.  If there is any real measurement of average temperature rising it can only be blamed on the Sun.  It is not constant in energy output.  It fluctuates.  It will grow old and die at some point along with most if not all life that is still on Earth.  Its hard to fathom for the non-scientist but it does change and will continue to be the cause of hot and cold spells on Earth.

Now its up to you.  Are you going to be part of our societies neurotic left sharing their OCD greeny behavior or are you going to be rational?

The above argument suggests we should not be worrying about CO2.  It does suggest we should keep an eye on the oceans. Er well, but then how will we ever get any unbiased data.  The Fear Factory will never allow it!

Its such a delightful time to be an engineer because although you citizens can understand the big trends and results its us technical people who can actually feel its soul.  

I want you to answer a question a truthfully as you can to yourself.  Here is the scenario.  At some point in your future you have exactly 10 years to live.  This has happened to absolutely every person who has every lived, so far.  How much would you pay for 10 more years additional on top the first 10 mentioned ?   And if you only had 6 monthes to live? How much then ?   Unless you some sort of unhealthy the truthful answer is most if not all of what you own.

Quite simply I can tell you this scenario is extremely likely to occur during the next 40 years.  The money as a proxy for our desire will be enormous.  ( For you lefties its all about the money.)  To me its about the collective desire.  There is absolutely no stopping this freight train.   

Stone Age, Bronze Age, Iron Age, Industrial Age(Mechanistic Age), Information Age……….Nano / Bio-Engineering Age.

The last entry is just starting.   The first 3 ages are pretty much mature.  The information age is ongoing but we’re not going to get a break this time.   Concurrent with it is the bio-informatic age.  Nano and Bio-engineering will indeed be very similar in informatics.  However some of the results will not!  

The photo of what you might consider a simple structure of a diatom above is enough to tell me as an engineer many things.  A rule I have for solving problems goes thus:

   99.9% of a solving a problem is simply KNOWING it can be done. The reason being is that its much harder to stick out the money and research time required to solve a problem you are not sure about.  If you are sure it is psychologically much more tolerable.  One place where even an atheist needs faith!

Well there you go.  The diatom has done it. It CAN be done. Silica can be formed by nano / bio engineering means.  The remaining challenge is to reverse engineer the process.  Now as you open your eyes wider you can see all around you the potentials for reverse engineering in nature.   An explosive realization occurs in your head.   The next 50 years will bring such changes that the world will be unrecognizable to us today.

Energy will be a problem of the past as sunlight will be converted easily to electricity or fuel.   Our minds will be augmented with such computing power.  ( I mean the kind installed in your skull ! )  that people will be forever changed.

But when your vanity makes you succomb to the sham that global warming its all revealed.   You will do whatever it takes to gain approval.

I just woke up this morning after falling asleep with the TV on.  Sure ass shootin if you leave the TV on when you sleep there is something wacky on right when you start dreaming.  This particular time it was one of those colon cleansing info-mercials.  They try to sell you on the idea that a clean colon results in healthy person.  Of course who would argue that they think their colon should be in tatters.   Naturally it had a steering effect on my dream process and I found myself worrying about my colon cleanliness and how I could thoroughly dis-encrust it.    That is what happens when you fall asleep while you watch the TV. 

No critical thinking, just a steering of the stream of consciousness. 

This is important because I realized the majority of people in this country and indeed the whole world watch TV with a large component of uncritical mind.

To wit: The proper response to colon cleansing ads is — No matter how many street sweepers you have on the Hershey Highway they still can’t keep it clean. 

This is a metaphor for TV.  TV people are the same the world entire.   They are all trying to sell a product whether it is colon cleansing or a particular news story.   You buy their product with your time.  They in turn package the collective time of all the viewers and re-sell this to the advertisers.  My god and what these mental midgets are paid for this. 

The fact is my mind is heavy on critical thinking when I am awake.  That is why when I watch something like CNN I get the same feeling as when I hear a colon cleansing commercial.

That is why it is dangerous to “fall asleep” while watching TV.   Viewing TV without a critical mind is about as smart as asking Elizabeth Taylor for marital advice. ( She’s been married how many times?  Well enough to make her an expert ! )

You get a very clear view of the machinations of TV cultura as an American in Brazil.  In Brazil the news people are socialist just like here in the USA.   They are more tightly held by the governent and they have no Rush Limbaugh.  As such these Brazilian news-people like to diss the USA because socialists realize the USA as an example puts the lie to their charade.   While I was there last they ran a story to the effect that jobs were hard to get in the USA and that why the heck would you want to live there ?   I mentioned to my Brazilian friends that this was quite in counterpoint to the truth.  In fact that if you wanted 10 jobs in the USA you could have them inside of 10 minutes if you have any sort of brain at all.  This in contrast to the chronically underemployed underutilized Brazilians who worry daily about their jobs, work alot of hours and have an average wage of about 500 USD per month.

Yes indeed TV people, News people are the same ALL over the world.  They sell a shabby product and their continued existance is based on you buying.    Let’s put them out of business.   Do not fall asleep with the TV on.

Just today on the Drudge report I saw that Sight-for-Sore-Eyes-Rosie O’Donnell and Donell er uh Donald Trump are having some sort of feud over some chicky.  See photo.  Mmmm….. That’s a pair you’d love to see wresting in Wesson oil ! ( who Don and Rosie or The Chicky’s ????)   I am not gay even though Rosie is but I would still rather have sex with Donald Trumps Raccoon Skin Toupe than both of her !   

Oh by the way do you know that TRUMP is an English slang for fart ?  But why is it Rose is the PARUM-PA-BUM-BUM?So next time you see Donald I would love to see a video of you telling him this factoid.  I won’t bother telling you what STUFF is slang for.

Chessus, I just look at the photo of the girl that Donnie and Hosie are fighting about.  Mmmmm…. Donnie has a reason to bugger on this but Rosie is just miffed she wasn’t born looking like her.  Er well if they get in a boxing match over the bee-yoo-tay who do you think will win ?  Let me give you some advice Don, Duct tape down that rug !
