Time Magazine Changes Name Seeks to Merge With People Magazine - Removes President from Most Influential List

Word is on via DrudgeReport.com that George Bush is not on their most influential list.  The list does include however a laundry list of television and movie personna.   Why don’t they just all move over to People Magazine and start writing scandal rag tomes that detail the lives of these useless bags of protoplasm.  Drudge called Bush being left off the list as being a snub.  I’d describe it more as Time Mag making themselves even more irrelevant.   If a list such as this can not be trusted to be relevant and effective but rather suiting your own small minded ends you reveal alot about yourself and nothing about George Bush.

Ransoming Back Robert Levinson From Iran By Trading 2 Revolutionary Guards

It appears the Bush administration has payed Irans ransom for Robert Levinson.   The cost was 2 revolutionary guards that had been captured in Iraq.  These guys are helping kill American soldiers.  Levinson should have been left with the Iranians as he had gone to Iran voluntarily.  While I had compassion for his situation, dealing with Iran is a bum deal.  If this is how we are going to handle Iran then we are indeed stuck in Iraq.  There is no way we can leave.  This is the cold war spy trade approach.  Maybe that’s the purpose.  Maybe by dealing with the enemy you tend to coopt them.  I surely hope so because as far as I can tell the Iranians have been begging us to bomb them since 1979.  There  is a large probability the Iranians are cooperating and sheltering al queda operatives in Iran.  What’s it going to take for us to be antagonized into OPERATION LIGHTS OUT ?

There are 2 factors that most likely lead into this set of events.

1- the democrats politicizing the Iraq war for political gains - 100% probability of occurence.

2- the Iranians already have the atom bomb - not sure but definite possibility - close enough to 50% to eliminate war options.

Personally I can’t stand the Iranian top leadership.  Everything about them sets of alarms in me.  On one hand I keep praying for them to go so far over the line that we bust the country.   The other part of me wishes for this to play out the cold war way where we wait them out until their inevitable collapse.

I know one thing. No matter what the democrats are not the people to handle this. It is when I think about this issue that I feel most confident that setting up in Iraq is most fortuitous.  I often wonder if this factored into Bushes strategy of going into Iraq.  And its also the time when I think we should not leave as we have alot of military hardware on either side of Iran.  If one was planning to pin down Iran and keep them guessing this would be just about the optimum strategy possible.  It keeps them guessing yet we are not yet in a shooting war with them.  I keep coming to the conclusion that indeed this must have factored into Bushes thinking.  With all the connections to terrorism that Iran has one has to think that if you were not hot on directly confronting them that this is a great way to hem them in.

The problem is its obvious they are playing game to sow indecision on our part.   May the hand of our non-existant god guide us in this matter.  May the flies of a thousand camels infest their arse so they are too itchy to enrich uranium.
