900MHz – Aironet Arlan 630 Access Point to Network Bridge Conversion

Easy – Just switch the EPROMS

This is the brute force method of converting an Arlan 630 access point to an Arlan 640 bridge by swapping the eproms.  The procedure is as follows:

  1. DeSolder U2 & U3 on two Arlan 930 access point units
  2. Program U2 & U3 for both a child and a root unit using the FW you can download using the link below
  3. Solder into place
  4. Boot up and test.  The 2 units will act like a cable connecting two points but wirelessly.
