Do you think Rand Paul was wrong when he said the civil rights act of 1964 theoretically goes too far when it bans discrimination in a private business?  If you do then you are substantively against private property rights.   Keep that in mind as you watch Broken Rainbow.  Had the Navaho and Hopi been treated according to the morality and legal philosophy of a libertarian they would have been compensated for their land.   Instead we played by the rules of the Neofeudalist class.   Since Navaho and Hopi did not have many votes to offer they were run over.   By not believing in private property and libertarianism you open the door to all manner of "sharp operators".  Many of whom end up in the United States Government.

Note when watching this video that the left romanticize primitive cultures and would have you believe several obviously false things.  They would have you believe had the native americans not been hoodwinked by actors in the U.S. Government and Peabody coal that they would have refused to allow mining on their land.  This is a tall assumption.   A more plausible reality is that the price paid by Peabody and company would have risen to market value and the Navaho and Hopi would have sold out sooner or later. 

The left sees opportunity in people treated shabbily.  However their eyes are always on making names for themselves or opening new territories in legal standing and representation.  This is not unlike opening wide open frontier land with little competition.  What would you expect? So many of them are lawyers.  If they do not see a chance for recovering on your claim you will get very little love from them.

You have to think a bit so you get it right.   The global warmers try to dehumanize anyone who speaks dissagrees with them.   They tolerate no dissent.  So yes I agree that this MMGW is very much like the fight against the NAZIS.   The global warmers play the role of the NAZIS in this particular set of circumstances.

I don’t know why we just don’t put windmills on our electric cars.  Then as we drive they will generate the electricity we need to run them!  

This is a metaphor for the entire green movement that puts form ahead of function.

Atomic energy is great.  We need to drill on the coasts and in ANWR for oil   We need to keep researching all the alternative energy possibilities.  We need the Chevy Volt.   Please help T. Remember its important you walk the talk because otherwise people might start thinking global warming is not happening.  That it is only an anti-human hoax designed to grab phenomenal amounts of power to control societies by choking energy supplies to them. Modern cars all still have catalytic converters.  These converters require the fuel air mix be set on the rich side wasting some gas in the interest of cleaner emissions.  The reality is though for quite some time computer controlled engines with fuel injection have been clean enough on their own that we do not need catalytic converters.  

In addition these catalytic converters weigh alot.  Vehicle weight is a primary determinant of fuel efficiency.    To me it appears that liberals never want to see a government mandated program be terminated.   It really appears as if they feel it would set a bad precedent to end a program.  They apparently feel that if we manage to kill one government program that we the pleebles might get uppity and demand a second and a third erased.   Quite likely true.

For this reason even when there are serial hybrid cars that get very high fuel efficiencies I wonder if the converters will go extinct.   I suspect it will require quite an effort to kill them when it should be easy as can be.

Just got off the phone with my brazilian girlfriend who makes the equivalent of 500 USD per month.  Food has gone up alot just in the last few months because the fields are being switched from food crops to sugar cane to make feedstock for ethanol.  There are whole nations where the average wage is 500 USD per month or lower.  Cleo will get by because I will help her if she gets in trouble but what about the rest of the people? 

I can only help the rest of the people by getting your lunatic anti-human green policies booted out.   Our societies are not yet geared up for biofuels.   It is not a situation where you can just flip a light switch and have things magically switch from total petroleum basis to total biofuels.  I can see that this environMENTAList commodity  debacle that is occuring is about to come to a head.

These 2007 numbers argue against any significant effect of wind power.  States with most wind energy installed, by capacity (MWatt)

•  -1. Texas 2,768 MW  
• -2.  California 2,361  
• -3.  Iowa 936  
• -4. Minnesota 895  
• -5. Washington 818

Total = 7778 MegaWatts. This is my estimate.  Wikipedia shows 16,000 MWatts of total installed generation capacity in 2007.  To be extremely clear that is ALL OF IT.  EVERY LAST WINDMILL.

Palo Verde Nuclear Plant averaged over 3200 MWatt of electrical power production in 2003.   Read that again because its only 1 nuclear power plant.    We generate about 20% of our electricity by nuclear means. 

It appears unless I have made a mistake that the entire wind power generation base = ~ 5 nuclear plants.   And given the fact that nuclear only generates 1 in 5 units of power required to run our economy it is clear that wind power will require decades to develop sufficient capacity.  Of course by then usage will have gone up. Doing this we are using gobs of steel and not really making a dent in our power budget.  Its profitable for now only because the steel required is being bought in small quantities. 

We’re currently skating towards oblivion.  However human behavior is nonlinear.  I expect that to change shortly when energy prices get high enough.    We are very soon to find out how much people really care about the psuedo-environmental fictional causes like global warming.   Imovable object meets irresistable force.    The reason for this is the left has set up an energy disaster in the making.    World energy use growth is going to make costs go parabolic and lead to economic dislocations of a larger magnitude than what we are accustomed.   This may well be what the leftist had planned. But oweing to their rather flacid reasoning capabilities I have to imagine they just were too stupid to know better.

They are going to soon find them and their causes on the outs with the average citizen.   Their immovable object of resistance to any and all effective technology will meet that irresistable force.  Something has to give.  That’s the nature of the nonlinear behavoir when compulsive daydreamers careen from crisis to crisis.

There is very little chance that wind power will ever meet more than a small fraction of our needs because it is too dilute a source.  Steel prices are bound to rise and too large a fraction of the economy would have to be devoted solely to it.   

I suggest that before 15 years has passed some other break through technology will supercede wind power.  The only course that has the advantage of the numbers is start drilling now.   The price of oil is not ever going to return to 40 dollars per barrel until alternative sources are mainstream so there is no reason not to drill as market forces will still be in play and force their development.

Talk about blowing a 10 year lead! ) We’re going hard towards electric cars now that gas is going above 4 dollars per gallon.  Watch the videos. See if you agree. Don’t get your hopes up too high that the cost of operation will be lower than gas.  Just like with ethanol if we use electricity for transport fuel it is sure to elevate the price thereof. Price pressure will be intense.  However it will help keep the money in country by using coal, nuclear and natural gas to power.  And give me a break if you think wind power is going to be cheap.
