Cho Seung Hui-Lee Harvey Oswald of our Era-Ambition Run Amok and Society, the most flexible tool ever invented

Lee Harvey Oswald was an ambitious person.  This is what led him to murder President Kennedy.  Our culture and people are ones in which achievement and celebrity are celebrated to a high degree.  However Oswald being of unstable character and with pathetic flaws in integrity of personality had no way to distinguish himself.  That is until he heard that Kennedy’s motorcade was going right past where he worked.  How ambitious do you have to be to shoot the president merely to promote yourself ?  Or alternatively how out of sync do you have to be to think this is the way to do it ?

The answers don’t matter.  The question you should be asking that is informative in and of itself is:  Are there people who will make the decision in favor of shooting President Kennedy?  The answer is YES obviously as Oswald acted out his twisted plan.

And so it goes.  Cho Seung Hui it seems was acting out in a fashion somewhat like Oswald.  He appears the loner that wanted to distinguish himself.  The accounts of his earlier life suggest he did not even want friends.  Thus he had nothing to base compassion on.  Although I would not want to be one of his victims I think the saddest character is Cho or Oswald.  They are defective from day one and incapable of something unique in human experience.

Now lets dial this situation down.  How many times in a day do you see people doing things are are for attention only?  Just about everything in TV and movies.  These actors are somewhat pathetic.  What appears to be an entertaining movie to you is in reality a grueling process of movie making devoid of fantasy.  While an actor appears to talk to an apparition in a movie in reality he talks to a green screen.   The only reason it gets done is ego and money.  The actor wants to be somebody and to be paid.

What else?  Any time you are told a story by the big time environmental lobby is it possible that these people are doing the same thing ?   Al Gore come to mind ?

I can assure you this process is much more common that you might think initially.  Almost everyone has an inborn self preservation instinct which directs them to try to fit into the most adaptable tool that mankind uses.  What is that tool ? Human societies.  When an anti-social engineer like me tells you its the most important tool ever invented,  you better listen.

The good news in all of this?  Cho is out of the gene pool and it appears that he did not reproduce.  Can you say evolutionary dead end ?

The bad news?  Sociopathic behavior is not so rare in this world.  How many more Cho’s are out there?  In a world of 6 billion I’m guessing alot.  There probably isn’t a alot of difference between this guy and bin laden.  They both sought to make their name through killing.
