My translation of the chapters of El Conde Lucanor is very literal. I like the most literal translations I can get as it gives me a very deep feeling for the language in question. It is like listening to a person speaking english with the accent of there language. This is because it tends to overlay the source language grammatic and idiomatic principles on English. Phrases in parenthesis are my added explanation of a sub phrase and are added only when needed to help convey the intended meaning of a phrase whose idiom is far further from English.
