Our politicians are proxies for our own defects and it seems they are gigantic
John McCains campaign is imploding. I could have told you this would have happened back in 2000. This is what happens when your main constituency is the press. Very whimsical were the reports of his popularity among the people. It simply didn’t exist. John McCain is a legend in his own mind. Only in his own mind.
Let me talk to you about how to see the world more clearly. Figure heads like McCain or even George Bush are only manifestations of the people. They can’t magically conjure up support. The days are almost gone when backroom power brokering can make the big deals. In this age the unpopular are quickly exposed as duds. The press keeps trying the shams of yester-year where they cloak their favorite ( always a dem ) in a cloak of inevitability.
The only inevitability today are just the facts as they really exist not in some lame brain word-smith-talkers mind but you know …duh….real facts….not made up ones.
Reality is a powerful thing. Really. It is. Its the reality of fictional characters in our minds that set the outcomes. That’s why Ronald Reagan was elected. We all thought we knew him and liked him. Even though very few of us really did know him. That’s why Fred Thompson is the most likely next president.  He may stub his toe but its doubtful even that will have a large influence. Come on dems….run Hilliary “Personality like nails on a chalkboard” Clinton ….Then if your a betting man lay some big money on the outcome. Its a lock.
Where do the mushrooms come in ? Mushrooms are merely the sex organs of an underground life form. Mushrooms come and go in the course of a short time measured in a few days. The mycelia underground persist year after year and the body of the organism.Â
