Oil companies give us something for our money. Can government say the same? No unless you are a worthless slob welfare recipient or global warming researcher.
Obama has an energy plan that is not getting traction with the sentient voter….its called oh my god the polls show likely voters going to John McCain AKA Kaw Liga by 1%. He is already losing to a cigar store wooden indian with his plans. Obama is saying let’s drill.
Let Georgia and North Carolina drill of their coasts if they want to. Liberal stater Governors are so very virtuous…they will see all that money going into the Georgia and N.C. treasuries and scoff. They will say "I’m so much better than those hicks….they are aiding global warming those deniers they!" ….. and 6 monthes later they will be opening up drilling off of their state coastlines also! ….. LOL…..its the casino effect!
A government shutdown will not be risky for the republicans. Totally different story this time from 1995….. Democrats are the only ones with something to lose this time! 75% of the people want the drilling to commence yesterday. They will clearly see how the unDemocrats are thwarting democracy and the will of the people………they will have a hard time avoiding being lynched! Thus I say To GW Bush: ………….Veto Veto Veto.
On the other hand. If the prices will be high in 10 years with our drilling on the OCS ….how high will they be if we do not??? The dollar is collapsing as traders use oil as a currency hedge. ( they used to use gold )….. This drilling WILL occur. It is only a matter of pain threshold now. Will it be 4, 5 or 6 dollars per gallon. We can hold a betting pool and ONE of these numbers will be the one. No way it gets to 7 before we drill.
END CONCLUSION: Phone the WhiteHouse, your congressmen and your senator. Encourage the senators to filibuster the bill. Encourage the president to veto. Make the democrats pass this renewal of the drilling ban on its own……..if the ban is so dang popular they will be overjoyed at the chance to vote for it separately.
