Social Climbing by Marrying a Less then Optimum Girl, Great Presidents think Alike

Lincoln married socially upwards with Mary Todd.  She turns out to be borderline nuts.   If you read the accounts and use  your personal experience you know tha a person only has to be marginal and not completely crazy to make your life a very uncomfortable place to be.   Lincoln brought us a large set of new big government initiatives.  Sure he abolished the old more overt form of slavery but then he brought us a new more subtle form in the US income tax that is only marginally less repressive.  Since 1/2 of everything you make in the USA goes towards taxes of one form or another you are 1/2 slave on the federal plantation.  The other 1/2 of you is whore with a pimp called Uncle Sam.  Just like a whore you get to keep a cut of your money.  And if you work your way up in a corporation employing other whores you are either Pimp or Mack depending on whether you enjoy the job or not. 

William Jefferson Clinton  married socially upwards with Hilliary Rodham.  This seems to be a similar scenario.  An ambitous wannabee marries his way towards power.  Likewise he has somewhat oppressive policies.  Likewise she seems to be borderline with a shrewish personality of fingernails on a chalkboard.    He certainly did not marry her for her looks or personality so that leaves power.  The only problem here is they are not leaving well enough alone.  Now she is running for president.  

I suppose its natural that if you have a place that is a nice place to live that people will keep changing their behavior to benefit from that place.  They will take more and more advantage until that place is a crappy place to live.  It seems to be the equilibria that governs human societies.   Its unfortunate because the USA was a work of art prior to the imposition of our petty dictator politicians who will do anything, including marrying a butt-ugly shrew to gain power.
