I placed a "want to buy" listing on hobid because I noticed some listings of a temperature controller that I use from time to time.  I clearly stated the acceptable price range.  I quickly received a call from a polite young man from aerotechcomp.com who did not know much about temperature control.   After this I received an email that quoted a price 10X what I pay for the controller.  I figured maybe they forgot but so I replied and reminded them of the price range 28 – 45 dollars depending on the options installed on the controller.   After this I received a call from a guy at aerotechcomp.com who was not too awfully good at either sales or thinking.   He thought he could call me up and berate me about the price I pay for this part.  Among his witty questions were:

  1. Are you Fred or Fred Flintstone?
  2. Are you a one man operation?
  3. You know you are going to buy why not just buy now?

All in a semi shouting tone of voice of a person who really does not sound like they have alot on the ball.

I promptly informed him that no matter what they come across I would not trust them with the money now.  That is why I am posting this as I assume if you are thinking about buying from them you should factor this report in.

If this guy worked for me he would be out the door promptly.  Businesses work on costs models that can not be violated without the expense of going broke.  Strange sales technique!  I wonder if it works with some people?
