Your WP error is caused by having the WordPress Automatic Upgrade plugin on your site. Remove the plugin so the upgrade to 2.7.1 can complete.

Hey that was fun! … because it worked. Never had a problem resolve itself like that before. Its reverse flow like when the drinking fountains outside the county building ran red with blood from the coroners office because the water pressure got a screwed up. Er well ok it was not as scary as that but the reverse flow part applies.
Any chance I can outsource the rest of my problems to you? Ok well I had to try! Going to poke around your beelogg a little to see if there is anything else there I can use.
