Black and Decker Combination Lock Hacking

I get junk given to me when I go to purchase things from a Craigslist sale. One such thing is a Black and Decker combination padlock.  Except I can not use it until I figure out the combination. The site below has a cracking tool:

Crack any Master Combination Lock in 8 Combos or Less

This did not work for me so I used the old pop can shim to get the padlock open.  I will read off the notches and figure out the combination.  Then I will go back to the above method and see what I did wrong.
