Problem
Astra car has a manual transmission. In order to get it to go into 1s / 2nd / reverse you have to pull up the reverse interlock and then 1st gear is where reverse should be. Reverse is even further to the left.

Parts were swapped in the cab cage gear shift assembly
I left the cage in the car rather than try to disassemble the cable to cage connection
After reassembly the shifter was about the same as before. It feels tighter now. I will adjust to test.
Adjustment steps
- set so the transmission is in 1st gear – appears like reverse gear position on the stick in my car.
- Remove the terminal pin to disconnect from transmission lever
- Set the terminal to the unlock position – let terminal rest on the cable end
- Set the stick shift to the normal position for first gear
- Slide the terminal up and mount it to the transmission lever with the terminal pin
- Set the lock on the terminal to lock it to the cable
Shifter Cable Bushings in cab end
Pin fell out. Had to buy another bushing as the one that was there went missing. Pin did not click into place so I found a screw and washer and threaded it into the plastic pin.

This guy was a bust. His response was "So nao tem solucao pra morte". That's not the way to win over a customer.
