To configure file protection in WordPress, you can use the Prevent Direct Access (PDA) plugin

  1. Install and activate the PDA plugin 
  2. Go to the Media Library List View 
  3. Select the file you want to protect 
  4. Click Configure file protection 
  5. Click Protect this file 

The PDA plugin protects WordPress files from unwanted users and search engines. It also prevents them from indexing and stealing documents, videos, and ebooks
