Blood Sugar Testing

Used a cheapy test kit to test my blood sugar.

  • Level = 86 mg/dL  > This was 10 am reading.
  • Level = 104 mg/dL > this was 9:30 PM > following the trends of the curve below closely.  6-18-2010 > after eating sweet carbs during the day
  • Level = 86 > hungry before breakfast 6-20-2010 > had potatos that elevated my sugar levels yesterday.  After eating a 2 egg & chickpea salad breakfast Level = 87.  Lunch included chicken with sweet barbeque sauce and small amount of rice and beads: Level = 107 afterwards.  I can feel the difference.  Less ability to concentrate.   Went for a walk to lower sugar level.  Distance = 1 mile: Level = 80 afterwards.  Feel a slight hunger.  Waiting to see if it goes away.
  • 6-21-2010:  after a day of eating light in the afternoon level = 78 mg/dL :  it is not optimal for brain function.   Slightly sleepy.
  • 6-22-2010:  after a decent breakfast at 8 am I later hiked up Squaw Peak > blood sugar afterwards: Level = 77

Video: Broken Rainbow – If you trust government you should watch this video

Do you trust government?

Do you think Rand Paul was wrong when he said the civil rights act of 1964 theoretically goes too far when it bans discrimination in a private business?  If you do then you are substantively against private property rights.   Keep that in mind as you watch Broken Rainbow.  Had the Navaho and Hopi been treated according to the morality and legal philosophy of a libertarian they would have been compensated for their land.   Instead we played by the rules of the Neofeudalist class.   Since Navaho and Hopi did not have many votes to offer they were run over.   By not believing in private property and libertarianism you open the door to all manner of "sharp operators".  Many of whom end up in the United States Government.

Note when watching this video that the left romanticize primitive cultures and would have you believe several obviously false things.  They would have you believe had the native americans not been hoodwinked by actors in the U.S. Government and Peabody coal that they would have refused to allow mining on their land.  This is a tall assumption.   A more plausible reality is that the price paid by Peabody and company would have risen to market value and the Navaho and Hopi would have sold out sooner or later.

The left sees opportunity in people treated shabbily.  However their eyes are always on making names for themselves or opening new territories in legal standing and representation.  This is not unlike opening wide open frontier land with little competition.  What would you expect? So many of them are lawyers.  If they do not see a chance for recovering on your claim you will get very little love from them.

Submitted to KFYI Phoenix for approval – My Anti McCain Ad

Update on the process of trying to get the script below approved for broadcast on KFYI in Phoenix:

Wish we had better news, but after review from our Legal department, we have been advised not to proceed. The political guidelines are extremely tight and the Federal scrutiny is at an all time high.

Sorry this didn't work out, but if there's something else we can do for you in the future please let us know!

So McCain Feingold et al have ripped the idea of free speech to shreds.

I feel it is time for John McCain to go.

In the interest of furthering this aim I decided to run an internet ad on KFYI a local Phoenix Arizona talk radio station.   You might be surprised to find out how sensitive they are about political speech on a political talk station.   Either they are not accustomed to nobodies like me wanting to run a political ad or the government / FCC have hit them with the slap stick enough that they do not just let a local editor approve a script.    They put it in a briefcase, handcuff it to the couriers wrist and fly it to San Antonio.    Certainly I could detect that they did not have a procedure in place for accepting political ads.  But I have heard political advocacy ads on KFYI before so I am left thinking this "approval process" does not entirely pass the sniff test.   I have to say I am flabergasted.  I never imagined it being so difficult to get a private company to accept my money.    If I was in charge at KFYI  the approval process would be 2 hours or less.   Check for swear words,  correct grammar and verify no advocacy of illegal activities.  DONE!

Why am I doing this?  The future of politics is not unlike open source software.  Open source software involves volunteers in the process of writing it.  It is a force to be reckoned with.  We are seeing open source politics  develop as a trend before our eyes.  This effort on my part is just a normal progression upon that trend.   I hope KFYI realizes that they can be a part of something that is likely to be very big.  To do that they will need to show some vision.   But dollars are what they do so maybe not.  If they choose not they will be diminished in my eyes and I think eventually other people will sense them slipping behind the times.  Yet maybe that is their job to be enough behind the times to never threaten their FCC license.   All the more reason to run the ad.  John McCain was co author of the bill restricting political free speech in the form of the McCain Feingold act.

Well never mind if it runs or not.  We will not be their serfs and while they aspire to be feudal overlords I think the future is a flat society without political status.   Its only a question of how long it takes to realize it.

The first version is below.     Had I known it would have to be flown to Clear Channels San Antonio corporate headquarters for approval I would have been much more careful.   The second version is what I would have preferred to use but given the circuitous approval process I do not want to complicate the issue.

Audio: Interview with Edward Gonzalez for Congress- An eye opening interview

Gonzalez was in Argentina as a student when the crash came.  He saw the nation go from what appeared to be prosperous to one with hyperinflation.  Later he was in Iraq and saw how make work projects distorted the local economy and left people worse off than before by introducing distortions into the economy.  Highly recommended that you listen to this interview.

Charles Goyette interview with Edward M. Gonzalez.

The experiences detailed by Gonzalez are too important to risk loss due to other websites removing pages.  Thus I have a locally stored copy of the Goyette interview of Gonzalez here.

Times so hard a guy has to resort to selling keys off of his keyboard

I recently bought a laptop.  I got a really good deal because the keyboard was missing 1 key.  Otherwise the machine is great.  Thus I found myself looking on ebay for a replacement F5 key.   Now I have heard of jacking off the dog to feed the cat but this is possibly worse.  Will the internet wink out if too many keys from too many keyboards?

Don Lancaster – Engineer and Author

I first heard the name Don Lancaster when I read the popular electronics hobby book "The TTL CookBook". Later when I worked as an RF designer I found out he had worked at the same place while he wrote the book.  Still later I met him at a Arizona Caving Club meeting.  My first and last caving experience was in a cave he discovered named "Dum Ditty".   I share alot of interests with the guy.   If you dare go near his website:  Don Lancaster's Guru's Lair you may never come out because there is alot of interesting reading for those interested in electronics and making a go of business based on electronics.

You can see a list of his titles on Amazon.

I have to keep this note short because I've already spent 2 hours reading things on his website!
