• Google results say:   To change the default size of the text box, while in your dashboard go to Settings > Writing. At the top of the page you will see an option for Size of the post box < enter how many lines you would like the box to be and then press save changes at the bottom of the screen.Nov 18, 2011.    Very old.  Not sure if even valid for installs of WP with no additional editor
