While I am against the Federal Reserve and banking system power as presently constituted I have not yet read this book. However in the interest of my collecting of certain critical works of historical significance I include it here. The country has been laid low by those who control the printing of currency and thereby the country.

How central banks manipulate markets to attain their desired outcomes.
People are suggesting that by not changing conservatives will fail. As per the book “The 48 Laws of Power” the only way you fail is by not being successful in the effort to feed your armies. In this case voters = armies. We need to architect a type of capitalism that also educates. Thus as the voter learns he prospers. As he prospers others see. As others see it they are drawn in. All movements that grow do this:
- ancient armies ran on rape, pillage and plunder
- In the case of NAZI Germany the business model was to dehumanize Jews and steal even the gold fillings in their mouths to pay the miscreants.
- The democrats business model is obvious. Plunder where advantageous. Cigarettes were only the devil when in the 1980’s they started contributing to republicans only. They were then exploitable.
If you want conservatism to prosper you need a business model. Fortunately we live in an era of fast flowing information. Thus I suggest there is a positive business model that will not include the larceny of the old ways. Its going to require a grass roots internet organization because its almost inherent that a top down model results in distortion of the libertarian capitalist model. I can feel this is possible. We are going into an era of technology which will enable many things including engineering of ourselves. Intellectual property rights along with world wide collaboration should enable this.
The good guys who play honestly need a gang also.
If you have ever done any amount of selling on ebay you know they can be a pain. If you have ever sold anything on Craigslist you know how good it is as a tool. It does not realize the full market value of many things but it doesn’t cost much ( free for the most part ). In the dealings with Craigslist ebay is crying foul because they are not going to get their way. They functionally hate Craigslist because ebay needs to be a monopoly to not fear getting up every morning. Their costs are simply too much. For a person actively doing business through ebay they effectively skim 10’s of percent off of the profit. Imagine you are buying something for 80. Ebay tends to take about 5% minimum with Paypal included. That means they take 5 sale. But that is 25% of your profit !! Ebay is a dead man walking and that is why they are backing up their position with Kijiji or however you spell that site. They need a model for the inevitable time when their revenue model falls flat on its stony nose! Craig Newmark is a commy but I still like him. In this case the commy is acting out like a capitalist. He owns the majority of the company. Tough luck ebay. I’m sure you’ve dicked more than the price you paid for your CL stock out of us poor users. You know…those times you cancel auctions because of this or that rule ….like if a person posts a competing payment scheme or you only want to accept wire transfers and DON’T refund listing costs or the time involved in the listing! ( when they do this the listing is fully erased…..you have to start from scratch.)
I spent last evening drinking triple distilled vodka in the form of Caipirinha with my neighbors here in Brazil. The current batch are all girls and are from Spain, Columbia. *( all girls, damn the luck ). Their friend Camilo was here and they were trying to take advantage of the airline weekend promotions to get cheap tickets to Rio de Janeiro. A few observational notes: 1- There are approximately 1 laptop per person no matter what country they are from ( and you have to be careful it does not get stolen! ) 2- Some of their degrees are strange. They study anywhere from architecture to tourism and physical Ed. 3- Most importantly countries like Columbia and Spain who were considered poor are now doing well enough to have kids that want to jerk off, burn jet fuel and go to Rio while they’re already in paradise! All those dollars shipped overseas have not bankrupted the USA. They have been the means of waking up the world to capitalism. Its a beautiful thing. These people range in age from 20 to 30-ish and they’re all very good solid people whom I would trust. The world is waking up. The price of oil is going up now but that should be no surprise. I’m sure we’ll find ever more ways to increase efficiency of all energy using devices and beyond that find sources of energy that will allow us to support the entire world with 1st world standards. Its a good thing. The world is full of good people and many of them are kept down by power hungry malevalent fools. Its something I hate to contemplate but it does not require alot of insight to realize this must be. I’m proud of my country when I realize how many people are being liberated not by war but by commerce. By capitalism. All that and most of it from white boys who are universally labeled the oppressors by those seeking to gain a quick buck through political bumsteer. I have some faith the generations that come after that will be various shades of brown will do the same. But its we pale faces with high adrenaline levels and tendencies not to listen to authority who started it all. Just like everywhere else you have to tweak the power plug position to get it to play.
